Kirkwood Resort's Annual Trout Cook-Off!

Do you cook trout better than the pros or have a secret trout recipe you won't share but love to show off? The trout cook off is a perfect place to display your talents. You can even win a cash prize, cool t-shirt, and have lots of fun!

Join us at Kirkwood Resort & Marina for this fun event held annually on the 3rd Saturday in August. Rent a cabin unit, RV space or boat slip to enter the Cook-Off. (Or, you can pay a cash entry fee.) Use the BBQ, equipment and utensils in the rental (or bring your own) and show off your cooking skill. Entries will be judged by local experts with cash prizes and, the highlight of the event is the People's Choice Award, so be sure to have plenty of fish cooked up for tasting! Extra points are awarded if your trout is caught in Hebgen Lake anytime during the summer!

The events typically start out with the Hebgen Cup in the late morning. This sailboat regatta, hosted by the Hebgen Lake Yacht Club, had its inaugural event in 2011 with terrific support and enthusiasm. 9:00 a.m. - Various classes for health and education: Yoga, Zumba, Nutrition (Check with us to find out what is scheduled each year)

11:00 a.m. - Registration for the Hebgen Cup Sailboat Regatta at the Kirkwood Boathouse

12:00 p.m. - Registration for the Cook-Off at the Kirkwood Boathouse

2:00 p.m. - Cooking Can Begin. Snacks & Drinks Available at the Kirkwood Roadhouse Grill; Volleyball, Horseshoes, Boat Rides

4:00 p.m. - Casting Lessons and Kayak Rides

5:00 p.m. - Live Music Begins with Beer-Tasting

6:00 p.m. - Cooking Entries Presented and Judged. Ballots Available for People's Choice Votes

7:00 p.m. - Winners Announced & Prizes Awarded. Music and Dancing Continue

8:00 p.m. - Lakeside Bonfire to End a Great Day
